...The Holy Land Became A Corrupt Land

God brought the people of Israel into a good land...a land flowing with milk and honey (Deuteronomy 8:7-10).

Prior to entering the land, God told the people of Israel in Leviticus 20:22,

"You are therefore to keep all My statutes and ordinances, so that the LAND where I am bringing you to live will not vomit you out."

God warned the people of Israel they would be judged by foreign armies if they corrupted the land (Deuteronomy 4:1-31; Leviticus 26; Deuteronomy 31-32).

Sadly, the people of Israel corrupted the land.

Psalm 106:38
They shed innocent blood—the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the LAND was polluted with blood.

Jeremiah 2:7
I brought you into a fertile land to eat its fruit and bounty, but you came and defiled My LAND and made My inheritance detestable.

Ezekiel 36:17-18
“Son of man, when the people of Israel lived in their LAND, they defiled it by their own ways and deeds....So I poured out My wrath upon them because of the blood they had shed on the land, and because they had defiled it with their idols.

Isaiah 24:5-6
The LAND is defiled by its people; they have transgressed the laws; they have overstepped the decrees and broken the everlasting covenant.

The holy land became a corrupted land.

Consequently, God destroyed the land, people, produce, livestock, and cities, including Jerusalem and the temple when he brought the Babylonians against Israel (2 Chronicles 36; 2 Kings 25; Jeremiah 52).

During the time of Jesus, the people once again corrupted the land, which is why Jesus turned over the tables in the temple and said the land, people, and cities, would be destroyed by armies (Matthew 23-24; Luke 19:41-44; Luke 21; Luke 23:26-29).

This destruction included Jerusalem and the temple.

The armies consisted of the Roman armies and the armies of the nations.

The destruction occurred from AD 66-70.

The Book of Revelation unfolds the corruption of the land and its destruction.
