Jesus said Jerusalem would be besieged by armies.
As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it (42) and said, โIf you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peaceโbut now it is hidden from your eyes. (43) The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side. (44) They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of Godโs coming to you.
The Roman armies besiege Jerusalem for five months.
The locusts looked like horses prepared for battle On their heads they wore something like crowns of gold, and their faces resembled human faces. ( Their hair was like womenโs hair, and their teeth were like lionsโ teeth. (9) They had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings was like the thundering of many horses and chariots rushing into battle. (10) They had tails with stingers, like scorpions, and in their tails they had power to torment people for five months

Some of his disciples were remarking about how the temple was adorned with beautiful stones and with gifts dedicated to God. But Jesus said, (6) โAs for what you see here, the time will come when not one stone will be left on another; every one of them will be thrown down.โ

A large number of people followed him, including women who mourned and wailed for him. (28) Jesus turned and said to them, โDaughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep for yourselves and for your children. (29) For the time will come when you will say, โBlessed are the childless women, the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed!โ (30) Then โ โthey will say to the mountains, โFall on us!โ and to the hills, โCover us!

Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and everyone else, both slave and free, hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains. (16) They called to the mountains and the rocks, โFall on us and hide [๐ฐ๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ] us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! (17) For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can withstand it?โ
