A Comparison Of Luke And Revelation (the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple in AD 70)

Armies Surrounding, Besieging, And Leaving Jerusalem Desolated And The Temple Destroyed In AD 70 (A Comparison of Luke and Revelation)

Jesus foretold armies would surround, besiege, and destroy Jerusalem and the temple.

๐—Ÿ๐˜‚๐—ธ๐—ฒ ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿต:๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿญ-๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฐ โ€“ Jesus said Jerusalem would be besieged by armies.

As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it (42) and said, โ€œIf you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peaceโ€”but now it is hidden from your eyes. (43) The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side. (44) They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of Godโ€™s coming to you.โ€

On their heads they wore something like crowns of gold, and their faces resembled human faces. ( Their hair was like womenโ€™s hair, and their teeth were like lionsโ€™ teeth. (9) They had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings was like the thundering of many horses and chariots rushing into battle. (10) They had tails with stingers, like scorpions, and in their tails they had power to torment people for five months

Some of his disciples were remarking about how the temple was adorned with beautiful stones and with gifts dedicated to God. But Jesus said, (6) โ€œAs for what you see here, the time will come when not one stone will be left on another; every one of them will be thrown down.โ€

A large number of people followed him, including women who mourned and wailed for him. Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and everyone else, both slave and free, hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains.
